Pieces of broken hearts

I liked things as they were,
thankful for how it was,
that i could at least be your friend for it's worth the cost.

I never asked for love,
Never asked for pain.
Even if i did, i would've nothing to gain.

I didnt mean to hurt,
Nor did i mean to stay.
Why does it have to turn out this way?

I didnt want things to go further,
Nor feelings to go deep,
All i really wanted was nothing of mine to keep.

I wanted to love freely,
But faith, it restricted us,
So i couldnt do anything, but let this slowly pass..

I tried to stop myself from falling,
It was a difficult feat.
But each time you kept coming and coming at it.

Well, every single thing i did for you;
the outcome need not mind,
Because it only mattered seeing you, as yourself, shine..

You made things beautiful,
Im glad you're in my life.
To me you're always a great significance, all right.

I was happy each and every time you were there,
Yet it felt like a crime,
For it pained to look at you do your best every time.

I nvr wanted my happiness to be at the expense of yours,
There was only one thing i asked from the start -
That you'll be happy, even without me as a part......
