Life's Battle

Thr i was, back in my seat
so lost for words, i couldn't speak.
After the time, the money, the effort i spent
what i got back was only one comment.

She gave me a critique- now, that's okay
But that was all she had to say.
Meanwhile, the judges kept noiseless as they awaited
Anticipating for the next presentation to be projected .

I felt confused. 'What do they want?
Redo-ing work isnt any fun.'
'What are their expectations of us?
Why are some accepted while the others aren't?'

They say hard work makes up 99 percent.
The 1 percent, however, still stands to gain.
It is the talent people have,
it helps those people outshine the rest.

We can work hard, we can work smart,
At the end of the day, do we hit the mark?
We might be dismayed at our results,
But knowing we did our best would make us feel proud.

Imperfect as we are, it's all right to fail
We just need to get up again to face our fears.
Let's brave the battles, every one of us
Let's have some courage to accomplish each task!
